I began my career in the Air Conditioning industry in 1985 at St Phillips College where I earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. After graduating I went to work for a Air Conditioning Contractor as an Apprentice working on large, long term Mechanical (HVAC & R) Projects installing Chilled Water, Hot Water, Steam and Refrigerant Piping Systems, Sheet Metal and Fiberglass Duct Systems and Rigging/Setting all types of HVAC & R Equipment from Chillers, Boilers, Refrigeration Systems, Ice Machines, De-humidification Equipment. I worked on the construction side for approximately 5 years until turning out as a Journeyman.
I met the wonderful woman that would become my wife on May 5th, 1990 while racing Stock Cars at San Antonio Speedway exactly one year to the date after we met. A year later we had the first of two daughters. Work began to slow down and I was laid off just before getting married so I reluctantly (afraid of change) moved into the service side of the business. I was lucky enough to land a job working with my brother-in-law for the Handy Andy Grocery chain who helped me tremendously in getting my feet on the ground working on anything and everything that got cold or hot from all of the Refrigeration Equipment to the stores Air Conditioning to Boilers and Pumps. I worked there for a few years. I worked for a few local refrigeration contractors working primarily on grocery store refrigeration and air conditioning.
I felt a tug at my heart to get my children into Church to give them the same benefit that I had been given by my mother. As far back as I can remember my mother had us kids in Church. It wasn't long after getting back to Church that I realized that the "tug at my heart" was God wanting "me" back in Church. It was during this time that I rededicated my life to Christ. To this day I do the best that I can to Honor Christ thru everything that I do. I certainly don't always get it right by I am forgiven. You can feel free to ask me for my testimony. I will be glad to talk to you about it.
I moved bounced around every few years looking for that "greener grass" so to speak for around 6 years. In May of 1998 I was offered a job at a large local mechanical contractor where I started as a service tech. After a year I was offered an office position Estimating and Managing Service Small Projects which are basically smaller New Construction and Change-out Projects up to $1,000,000.00 in value. I was able to take some projects all the way through Design to Completion. I continued working there until the time came to make the leap into my own business.
WRC Mechanical Services was born on November 1st of 2012 after leaving the stability of a good full time job and a steady income. Having my own business has been a dream of mine as long as I can remember. I remember having a bicycle shop at somewhere around age 12 where I would repair bicycles for kids in our neighborhood at around. This was basically a fort that I built against an old privacy fence at our house in San Antonio. I don't remember ever making a dime but I was in business in my young mind.
